1. The CFM Bait-and-Switch
There are many manufacturers that boast incredibly high CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) ratings. What they don’t tell you is that those figures represent the measurement of the fan motor, completely unrestricted. Once you attach a fume extraction arm, ductwork and filters that number drops significantly. At IAP, our ratings reflect true performance at the hood intake—where it matters for your safety.
2. The "In Stock" Illusion
Ever found the perfect product online, hit purchase and received an email a day later citing a 6-week lead time? Many manufacturers list everything as "in stock" just to capture attention and your credit card. Even worse, some will list specialty items—like stainless steel fume snorkels—that they don't manufacture/carry. If their offering is limited to just a couple of diameters and lengths, then they likely don’t carry many arms. You may also find that their “fix” for “in stock” is selling you an arm that is different than the one you wanted from their website.
